Back in 1997, Shahram Pouranfour, of Persian descent, and his wife, Gita, of German descent, decided to start a family business in Louisville, Kentucky, with their two sons, Farzan and Arman. They opened a casual, family-style restaurant in South Louisville and named it Fishery Station, catering to seafood lovers.  

As the years progressed, the family decided to add more items to the menu, including such exotic food items as alligator tail to shark.  They also decided to incorporate a little bit of their culture into their menu by offering such delicious sides like Basmati dill rice to accompany your choice of chicken or fish. Not to mention, best Gyro in town, Baklava, a delicious Mediterranean dessert filled with pistachios and honey.

After 14 plus years running their successful restaurant on Outer Loop, the family recently opened up The FishFry House on Bardstown Road bringing their delicious fresh fish menu of hand breaded Scrod and other delectable dishes to the Highlands’ area. The family continues its tradition of offering generous portions and the highest quality of ingredients. In fact, the owner
